Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the Extraordinary G20 Leaders’ Summit on Afghanistan by videoconference from the Vahdettin Pavilion in Istanbul .

The head of state stressed that the world is facing a new political and geopolitical reality in Afghanistan , and that the fact that stability is restored as soon as possible in that country becomes important not only at the regional level, but also internationally.

“We must guide the Taliban to form an inclusive administration. The international public cannot afford to turn its back on the Afghan people, to leave this country to its fate, ”exclaimed Erdogan, who stressed that strong solidarity should be expressed with the Afghan people due to the humanitarian crisis that is gradually deepening in Afghanistan.

The president reported that the Turkish Red Crescent had recently provided 33 tonnes of food aid.

“We will continue to fulfill our mission of fraternity with the Afghan people in their difficult days,” he made clear.

Erdogan stressed that the advances in Afghanistan multiply the risk of the migratory flow.

“Turkey will not be able to bear a new migratory load originating from Afghanistan. Propose the founding of a working group within the G20. Like Turkey, we aspire to preside over this group ”, said the Turkish president who added that it would be inevitable that European countries would be affected by the migratory pressure that Turkey would be subjected to through its southern and eastern borders.
