We met it officially at the end of last year 2020, but only for China and the Asian market. As with Xiaomi’s range tops, its official presentation in the West for the rest of the world was still missing. And so it just was this afternoon, when we have seen the Xiaomi Mi 11 globally, let’s take a look at it section by section.

Almost 7-inch screen

Starting at 7 ”, a device is basically a tablet. The mobiles keep pushing to break that barrier one day and get very close. The Mi 11 has a 6.81-inch premium AMOLED DotDisplay screen and 120Hz refresh, which focuses it on content such as gaming. Named as “Xiaomi’s most advanced screen”, the Mi 11 has a WQHD + ultra high resolution panel and 10-bit color technology, allowing for smooth color transitions.

Its Super Resolution technology also allows upgrade low resolution videos to WQHD + qualitywithout worrying about higher data consumption”. The terminal offers a comfortable grip thanks to its curved edges and its glass rear finish, also implementing a 480Hz touch sampling frequency and an on-screen fingerprint sensor.

The Mi 11, which mounts dual Harmon Kardon speakers, offers a cinematic audio quality, mounting a screen protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus against damage from drops and bumps. Mi 11 uses “an advanced anti-glare dual frosted finish that catches light, not fingerprints”, And will be available in two color variants: Midnight Grey y Horizon Blue.

Processor 888

The first mobile on the market to incorporate the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor -the same that the vast majority of top-of-the-range will mount this 2021-, this chipset brings with it the GPU Adreno 660, the 6th generation Qualcomm AI engine and the X60 modem, which combines AI technology with ultra-fast 5G connectivity.

With advanced 5nm process technology, Mi 11 is faster, more powerful and more efficient than its predecessor. Not only does the device support 2K / 120fps / HDR gaming, it also features an eight-core design and an ultra-large Arm Cortex-X1 core that increases performance. All this while your 3,200MHz LPDDR5 guarantees fast data transfer speed which has increased from 5,500 Mbps to 6,400 Mbps.

Yes, bring charger

Equipped with a LiquidCool heat dissipation system, the device effortlessly handles extreme gaming and other high-capacity operations while staying cool, mounting a 4,600 mAh battery and triple charging combination:

  • 55W wired
  • 50W wireless
  • Reverse 10W

The best thing is that the presentation has confirmed a question that was had: Xiaomi Mi 11 does have a charger in the box, one described as “compact but powerful 55 W GaN”.

Triple Chamber 108

The part in which manufacturers compete the most to take users, the Xiaomi Mi 11 has the status of a flagship, and therefore must mount a main camera at the height of that. For this reason, the terminal mounts a triple rear camera with:

  • 108 megapixel wide-angle sensor, which allows the Mi 11 to capture “sharp images comparable only to professional DSLR or mirrorless cameras”
  • 13 MP wide angle sensor
  • 5 MP telemacro lens

On the front, a 20 MP punch hole camera makes it possible to minimize frames, while ensuring that users look their best when taking selfies or having video calls with friends.

Building on Xiaomi’s existing technology, Mi 11 boasts new photo and video features, such as improved night mode. They offer not one, not two, but their three cameras: main, ultra wide angle and front. The Mi 11’s video night mode technology comes with RAW level noise reduction for brighter night images.

The camera module is reinforced for 6 cinematic AI functions that, with a single click, make artistic shooting a breeze: from Parallel World, that duplicates and inverts the scene to give the appearance of a mirrored world, until Freeze Frame Video, which freezes and clones video frames to create the illusion that parts of the video are frozen in time. And for moviegoers we have the mode Magic zoom, which creates the illusion that the camera is simultaneously zooming in and out of the scene – a trick that directors like Alfred Hitchcock perfected.

Mi 11 also offers HDR10 + recording and the new Pro Time-lapse mode, capable of adjusting shutter speed, ISO, aperture, and EV to control even the most challenging lighting situations. Also noteworthy are advanced AI features, including AI Erase 2.0, which allows users to remove unwanted objects or lines from images with a simple click.
