WhatsApp will allow you to edit messages that have already been sent

Recently, it was revealed that the famous app of WhatsApp will allow you to edit sent messages, it will also make it very clear to our contacts that we have carried out said action.

The truth is that WhatsApp is an application in which it is extremely difficult for something to go unnoticed.

It is that if you delete a message, WhatsApp makes it very clear with a “This message was deleted”, if you leave a groupWhatsApp notifies all participants with a “Jose Juan left the group”.

That is why, as expected, the same will happen with the messages that have been edited in the messaging application.

We have known for a long time that WhatsApp was working on allowing the editing of messages, that is, modifying the sent text for things like correcting a typo, adding a comma so that the phrase makes more sense, etc.

Well now we know, courtesy of WaBetaInfo which will also show when we have edited a message in the purest Telegram style. On May 31st, in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android, WaBetaInfo discovered that WhatsApp was working on editing already sent messages.

On September 16 we saw a new capture of this function and now, finally, we can see what an edited message will look like in WhatsApp. As detailed by WaBetaInfo, in beta of WhatsApp for Android it has been verified that, when a message is edited, the text “Edited” will appear next to it.

That is the way that the application has to indicate both to our interlocutor and to ourselves that the message has been modified, it is the same behavior as in Telegram.

The truth is that we do not know if, somehow, it will be possible to access the message history (to see the modifications made). We also don’t know if a message sent to a chat, forwarded to another chat and subsequently edited will be changed to reflect that edit.

However, what we do know thanks to WaBetaInfo is that we will have 15 minutes from when we send a message to edit it.

However, at the moment, this feature is in development, which is why we don’t know when, if ever, it will be released.

So be very attentive, because here we will definitely share when this function is launched in the famous WhatsApp application, since day after day we share news about it.
