Swift Playgrounds 4 lets you develop apps right on the iPad, so you can code anywhere, anytime

If you wanted to use the software Swift Playgrounds to develop apps for iOS devices, you needed a Mac to do that – although there are other ways to develop apps, obviously -. That being said, those who are often on the go or very nomadic do not necessarily have a MacBook. The Cupertino company now offers a solution.

Swift Playgrounds 4 allows you to develop applications directly on the iPad

Indeed, the apple brand recently released Swift Playgrounds 4, an application for iPad and Mac. With this latest version of Swift Playgrounds, users will now be able to design and create apps using their iPad and submit them to Apple directly from the tablet. So there will no longer be any need to use a Mac computer in this process.

To code everywhere all the time

Here’s an update that should come in handy for developers who have their iPad on hand more often than their MacBook, whether it’s an Air or a Pro. Or for developers who have an iPad and want to code a bit right away before they get home or get to the office and find their Mac. Coding everywhere all the time for iOS is finally possible!

Swift Playgrounds 4 was announced during WWDC 2021 a few months ago, but its launch had been postponed until today. For developers who are interested in this app, just download and install the latest version, as usual, directly from the App Store.

Note, you must have an iPad running iPadOS 15.2 or later. If you have an older version installed on your tablet, it will need to be updated. And if it is not eligible, you will not be able to use Swift Playgrounds 4.
