Samsung unveils its M8 smart monitor, always more complete to reach as many users as possible.

Samsung adds a new benchmark to its range of smart monitors with the M8, 32 inches and 4K resolution. Like the models currently available for sale, this new device can offer features worthy of a television, including access to streaming applications, in addition to being able to be connected to a computer like a “normal” monitor.

The South Korean giant has not revealed an availability date or price, but the first details to which we are entitled prove that Samsung is going even further with this M8 to make it useful to more people.

Samsung unveils its M8 smart monitor

This smart monitor is 11.4mm thick, which Samsung says is much thinner than previous models. Perhaps the most impressive feature is its magnetic, movable SlimFit camera, which can be attached to the monitor at will for video calls.

The monitor itself is compatible with many video chatting applications, such as Google Duo. On other Samsung smart monitor models, you had to add your own webcam.

Samsung also integrates a SmartThings IoT Hub in its M8, allowing you to have a map of all your connected objects in your home and to control them directly from the smart monitor.

Samsung explains that the M8 also has a new feature called Workspace, which brings together many web services for productivity, such as Microsoft 365, in an intuitive hub.

Always more comprehensive to reach as many users as possible

Another cool feature: Game Home. This transforms the M8 into a monitor for cloud gaming. The South Korean giant claims that owners will be able to use the M8 to play from streaming services and even connect wireless controllers.

However, the brand did not name specific services or controllers. Samsung also told The Verge that more information will be shared regarding this particular feature later this year.

Without mentioning all the connectivity available on the M8, Samsung has however declared that this smart monitor has a USB-C port that supports 65 W charging.
