In August, realme unveiled the realme GT 5 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform in China. In recent weeks, several rumors have indicated that the Chinese manufacturer is preparing to launch a Pro variant, which should feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but it was unclear whether the model would arrive in 2023.

Now, realme has brought the first official teaser of the realme GT 5 Pro, indicating that it should be made official in November or December.

According to rumors, the realme GT 5 Pro should feature BOE’s 6.82-inch curved display with 2K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and an under-screen fingerprint reader. As previously mentioned, the phone should feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform with up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 to TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage.

For power, the flagship may come with a 5,400 mAh battery unit and support for 100W fast charging. For an enhanced gaming experience, the realme GT 5 Pro should come with an advanced thermal dissipation system.

In terms of photography, a 16 or 32 megapixel sensor is expected. On the rear, rumours point to a 50-megapixel Sony IMX966 main camera with optical image stabilization and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

After several rumors mentioned the presence of a periscope camera, Digital Chat Station said that the phone will have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.

Realme GT 5 Pro may not have a periscope camera, says new rumor

In a new post shared on Thursday, Digital Chat Station once again talked about the new realme GT 5 Pro. According to the leaker, the smartphone should have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, but the higher-capacity periscope camera may have been abandoned by the Chinese manufacturer.

For him, sources in the production chain indicate that realme has swapped the OmniVision OV64B periscope sensor for a 50 MP Sony IMX890 telephoto camera, bringing the optical zoom to around 3x.

This change should reduce the device’s expected optical zoom capacity.

On the other hand, the main sensor remains at 50 MP and the ultrawide may also share the same resolution. As for the other specifications, DCS pointed out that the GT 5 Pro should have a curved edge OLED screen with a rate of up to 120W.

In addition, we should also expect a 5,400 mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wired fast charging, as well as native Android 14.
