For several years, there has been a lot of talk about how to utilize “experts” online. Whether it’s corporate or sector research or investment purposes, how do you “suck up the brains of experts” to get information efficiently? Major companies in this area include GLG, Third Bridge, Guidepoint and Alphasights. With the impact of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), the means of listening to experts such as meetings and events have been destroyed, and the world has become a test site for remote work, and these platforms are much more substantial than before. Value is increasing.

That’s why a network of experts and a primary research platform, proSapient, have raised $ 10 million in a Series A investment round led by Smedvig Capital. Wouldn’t be surprising. Well-known investor Guy Hands and existing investor 24 Haymarket also participated in the round. As a result, the total amount raised by proSapient to date is $ 18 million (¥ 1.87 billion). The company plans to use this money to expand its business internationally.

proSapient is basically a SaaS platform that manages a network of professionals. It is primarily aimed at investors and consultants who collect data. The platform matches professionals and projects and provides transcripts. Customers can use it to collect insights by phone or face-to-face, initiate their own research, or carry out small strategic projects with a small group of experts. You can also search and filter messages. Collaboration is also possible on this platform. The company claims that it currently serves more than 100 clients in Europe and the United States, generating more than 100% year-over-year revenue.

Margo Polishchuk, co-founder of proSapient, said in a statement, “This round of funding facilitates our strategic goal of becoming a leading primary research platform in the private-equity and consulting industry. That’s it. ”

Rob Toms, Managing Director of Smedvig Capital, commented: “We are excited to work with Margo (Polishchuk) and Jordan (Jordan) to help them continue their great growth and international expansion. They have a great team and We have a strong position in the market and have a clear vision of our business direction. ”

In addition, proSapient recently appointed Mike Wroe, a former Group CFO of Just Eat plc, as chairman.
