Meta developers do not usually make improvements to WhatsApp Web frequently because they prioritize the mobile application, in fact, the platform was updated twice during the course of this year, the first time was to implement access to the test program, while the second time they added the channels section.
According to information released by the technology portal WabetaInfo, it was learned that the latest update of WhatsApp Web brought with it a sidebar on the left side of the main interface, what is it for? Basically, it is a new and modern design of the messaging service for browsers, which will replace the old one.
The sidebar will have tools that will facilitate the use of the web platform, for example: direct access to chats (with their filters); status section; channels; communities; archived conversations; favorite messages; settings and the shortcut to your profile.
Here’s how to get the new WhatsApp Web sidebar
- Before we start, it is necessary to clarify that this is a feature in development stage.
- It is not yet available, but it is estimated that in January it will arrive in the beta version of WhatsApp Web.
- We will show you how to get the trial program so that in a future update you will receive the sidebar automatically.
- First, on your computer or laptop access WhatsApp Web by clicking on the link below.
- Now, with your smartphone open the app and scan the QR code to link your account.
- How? Press the three dots icon (top right) > “Linked devices” > “Link a device” > place your fingerprint > and scan the QR code.
- Through the web version click on the three dots.
- Click on “Settings” > scroll to the bottom and click on “Help” > check the box “Join beta version”.
- Refresh the page with “F5″ and that’s how you get the trial version.
