Smartwatches are today in the era of time. There are many manufacturers and just as many models. Today, Casio unveils its very first G-Shock smartwatch, under Wear OS.

The smartwatch market is a very large market and has been for many years now. Manufacturers are multiplying the models despite the overwhelming domination of Apple with its Apple Watch. Some names are still missing.

Today it’s Casio which makes its debut, with a connected version of a cult range, the G-Shock. A model under Wear OS, quite logically.

Casio unveils its first G-Shock smartwatch

Since smartwatches most often use a touchscreen, this means that the majority of these smartwatches have to use a very different form factor than traditional watches. This is also one of the complaints that comes up most often. That being said, if you’re a fan of the Casio G-Shock line, you’re in luck today.

The iconic design of the range, all under Wear OS

Indeed, Casio has just formalized its very first G-Shock smartwatch, powered by the Google Wear OS platform. This means that if you love the G-Shock brand and its design but would also like to take advantage of the intelligence and connection offered by a smartwatch, it is now entirely possible with this model under Wear OS.

From the outside, this watch looks exactly like a traditional G-Shock watch, which is good if you just like the ruggedness of the G-Shock line. This includes features like impact resistance and water resistance, up to a depth of 200 meters. Note, the back of the watch is made of titanium, for increased durability.

For the rest, know that this smartwatch has its now usual share of sensors and features, such as heart rate monitor, gyroscope, accelerometer, altitude / air pressure sensor, GPS and more. Unfortunately, this Casio G-Shock GSW-H1000 is not cheap. It will be marketed at the public price of $ 700, starting in mid-May.
