Bebo is set to return as “a brand new social network”

Bebo, one of the first social networking platforms, is making a return.

The website was in operation between 2005 and 2013, before making a brief comeback in 2014.

Bebo is reported to be coming back next month, with a message on the website saying “Bebo is coming back in February 2021 as a brand new social network. We are currently in private beta.”

Yesterday (January 29), Bebo.com has been relaunched to share the news of “a brand new social network” which will arrive at some point next month. A specific date has not yet been announced.

All data and photos that were previously uploaded to the site were lost “many years ago” and are not recoverable, it added.

Twitter users shared their excitement about the announcement, with one saying: “I’m definitely getting back on Bebo.”

In 2013 Bebo filed for bankruptcy and closed down that year. However in 2019 the site was bought by Amazon via their subsidiary Twitch Interactive for $25million.

There has been no information on what the new site will look like or whether it will include the classic features such as being able to rank your friends.
