Zero Gravity, a software developer, has added a 3D shooting function using the LiDAR sensor installed in the iPhone 12 Pro to the child’s growth recording app “Seikurabe”.

“Seikurabe” is a child growth recording app that utilizes AR. Take a picture and measure your height at the same time to record your child’s growth. The recorded data can be overlaid on the real space with AR, and you can feel the growth by “seeking” with your child.

The app can also be used on devices that don’t have a LiDAR scanner, but with this update, it’s compatible with the LiDAR sensor on the iPhone 12 Pro. In the past, AR data was generated by cropping 2D photos, but now it is possible to create more realistic AR data by shooting in 3D using LiDAR.

Also, regarding the height measurement function, there is an error of about 30 cm on models that do not support LiDAR, so it is necessary to check the measured value and manually correct it before saving the record, but on models equipped with LiDAR, high-precision height measurement is possible.

In addition, 3D data is disturbed in the current version, but we plan to fix it at a later date.
