The famous Cuban athlete Yoel Romero fought four times in a title match, but did not win any.
The UFC broke the contract with the famous Cuban fighter Yoel Romero, known as the ‘soldier of God’, he informed his manager, Malki Kawa, ESPN on 5 December. According to media sources, he still had three fights to play.
The 43-year-old athlete competed for seven years in the world’s most famous MMA organization between 2013 and 2020. Romero opted for the organization’s champion title four times, but was never able to meet this goal. In his most recent attempt, on March 7, Romero lost to Israel Adesanya in the fight for the middleweight belt.
Of his last five bouts, Romero lost four. The athlete, who before starting his career in MMA was a silver medal winner in wrestling at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, is looking for a place in another promotion, said his representative.
