The UAE Emirates team has closed its squad for the 2022 season with the signing of 23-year-old Swiss Joel Suter. Suter signs for a season and comes from Bingoal – Pauwels after a season in which he has been noted in UCI World Tour races such as the Tour of Switzerland, where he was fourth in the fourth stage, and in the Tour de Romandie, where he was second in the standings of the mountain.
In statements released by the Joxean Fernández ‘Matxin’ team thus analyzed the arrival of Suter to the team.
“Joel is an established team rider who can support our great leaders at key moments. He is strong on the call, on time trials and has shown that he performs well in the mid-mountains. He is still a young rider at 23 but already has several years of professional experience and has shown what he can do in various races on the UCI World Tour. I think it will fit in very well with us.”
For his part, Suter himself was very excited about this new adventure at UAE Emirates.
“I am very happy to compete next season at UAE Emirates. It was a dream to take this step and now it has come true. I feel like I am on the moon and I am ready to start this new chapter. Next week I will join the team in the first concentration of the year and I am very excited about it.”
