Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 44 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 138-129 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.

Josh Giddey added 19 for the Thunder, who had lost in three of their previous five games.

Damian Lillard was the Trail Blazers’ top scorer with 38, while Jerami Grant added 23.

Although it was a back-and-forth game, Portland appeared to pull away on the board in the fourth with a three-pointer by Anfernee Simons that gave them a 112-103 lead.

But the Thunder pulled within 112-111 thanks to a triple by Isaiah Joe and took the lead on a basket by Giddey with 7:31 to go. Lillard answered with another that granted the Blazers a slim lead.

A dunk by Gilgeous-Alexander put Oklahoma City back up 119-114 with 5:22 to play, and a three-pointer by Lu Dort with 2:45 remaining appeared to seal the win with 129-121 on the scoreboard. Dort finished with 18 points coming off the bench.

The Trail Blazers included Cam Reddish, acquired in a trade with the Knicks before the trade deadline Thursday afternoon, in their starting five. Reddish finished with 11 points in place of Josh Hart, who left for New York as part of the trade.
