To say that Netflix is confident about The Witcher would be an understatement. Netflix announced the third season, another anime film and an animated spin-off for the whole family. The new anime will once again be produced by Studio Mir (Legend of Korra). Season two hasn’t even left the gates (December 17), but a teaser trailer for the third season has already been revealed. Game fans may recognize the “III” symbology at the end of the game.

Netflix also shared a behind-the-scenes video with the showrunner behind The Witcher: Blood Origin, the prequel series set 1,200 years before Geralt.

Netflix has all the attention in the world, but perhaps not the IP to take on Disney and HBOs around the world. So it’s understandable that the company is striving to expand its most promising franchises… Netflix will also produce a new “fun” Witcher series for kids and families-though it’s not exactly clear how that will work.
