After there was a leak about an alleged multiplayer of Resident Evil Village last year, another indication has emerged that we may soon get to see the first material from the multiplayer mode of the horror title. According to the SteamDB database, “Multiplayer” has been added as a store tag to the game on the Valve platform.

A reveal of the multiplayer could be imminent on Thursday. At 11 p.m. Capcom will introduce new things around the series as part of the Resident Evil Showcase. Confirmed content includes a tour of Resident Evil Village including gameplay and a new trailer. On the Resident Evil website, fans can currently still register for a secret closed beta, which will take place between January 28th and 30th. According to Capcom, there are first details in the showcase. The test is planned for PS4 and Xbox One.

Resident Evil is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. In addition to the new games, fans can look forward to an animated Netflix series on the series with Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. But live-action films in the form of a movie and another Netflix show are also planned. Resident Evil Village will be available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X / S in 2021. The story will revolve around Ethan and his wife Mia, whom we already know from Part 7. Familiar faces like Chris Redfield are also said to have an important role in the new game.
