The King hugs goodbye to Princess Leonor

The Kings, accompanied by their daughter the Infanta Sofía, have said goodbye to the Princess of Asturias at Barajas airport and Doña Leonor has set course for this new and exciting stage of her life alone, after starring in an emotional farewell to her parents and her sister in whom the gestures of affection, hugs and, of course, emotion have not been lacking.

Leaving strict protocol aside and proving that they are a normal family, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia have affectionately embraced their eldest daughter in her last minutes in Spain, without being able to hide the mixture of pride and sadness they feel at the departure of Leonor to the United Kingdom to continue her studies.

Demonstrating the special relationship that unites them, the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía were fused in an intense embrace that reflects their complicity and the desolation of an emotional Sofía at the departure of her older sister, from whom she has never been separated until now.

With comfortable attire and carrying a backpack on his shoulder and a trolley, for the trip, Leonor has chosen simple black pants and a three-quarter sleeve t-shirt with sailor stripes.

And, despite her excitement after saying goodbye to her parents and her sister Sofia, the heir to the throne has begun her British ‘adventure’ with the best of her smiles, which undoubtedly reflects her happiness for this new stage that begins when she is about to turn 16 years old.
