Shanik Berman broke down in tears and revealed that she is not having a good time after the video in which she appears to apologize to Pepe Origel on the show “Con permiso” was broadcast.
The 64-year-old journalist confessed in Todo para la mujer that she is not putting up with being the target of criticism in social networks after apologizing to Origel for a comment she made about him a few weeks ago, because, although some applauded the host’s humility, others branded her as exaggerating her behavior.
“I’ve been torn to pieces, and maybe with good reason, I’m having anxiety attacks, because I went to Pepillo’s show [Con Permiso], but with Martha, and I asked for forgiveness from both of them,” Shanik explained to Maxine Woodside, head of the radio show.
“I went to Pepillo’s show and he told me that I was very bad, that why didn’t I call him on the phone if I have his phone, and in that he is right, I said that I was in love with someone 46 years younger, that if I had talked to him, he would have told me the truth, and to Martha I asked for forgiveness because without having seen his series, which is Vivo o muerto, when he told me that he was doing a series of Juan Gabriel, I said ‘it’s bullshit that you are saying that he is alive’, but since I saw the series (…. ) you can’t tell someone so ugly without having seen his work,” said Berman.
Subsequently, the also TV host expressed the great disconsolation she feels for the attacks of her detractors in social networks. “They say I have no dignity (…) I can’t stand that they are fighting with me, I mean, it’s something I can’t stand, and… they told me that I suck, that I’m worthless, that I have no dignity”, she said on the verge of tears.
Although Maxine herself and her other colleagues of the Radio Fórmula program tried to calm her down, Shanik did not hold back her tears and explained the reasons that led her to kneel in front of Origel.
“I understand that for many people my character is very strange, but they have to understand that I come from a mom who was sold in the war, who was taken to the death march, who was raped, that her cousin was raped in the snow and had to have her 20 fingers amputated, that my dad had 9 siblings killed, and that they did not know what dignity was, they only knew that you have to move forward and it is a word that maybe in my house I never learned what dignity is, it is nothing more than wanting to move forward when I feel that something can damage my work or something of mine, maybe I do not have dignity, but where was I going to learn dignity from? “She ended visibly distressed.
