The second season of ‘Pasión de Gavilanes’ is about to premiere and, unfortunately, fans of the famous Telemundo series have to know that on the morning of this Monday, November 29, the death of Sebastián Boscán , the actor who played Leandro , was confirmed Saints.

The Colombian actor who, among other characters, gained fame for his role as Leandro, lost his life at the age of 41. The cause, a sudden stomach cancer that, on Sunday afternoon, took him to the plane of the afterlife. This fact caused the sadness of his former companions of ‘Pasión de Gavilanes’, who have changed like this after 17 years of the first season .

The unfortunate event was announced, in the first instance, by the communicator Carlos Ochoa , who also stated that the funeral procession of this television star will take place this afternoon, in the chapel of the Jardines Montesacro cemetery, in Itagüí , in the province of Antioquia, data also confirmed by Colombian newspapers, such as ‘El Tiempo’.

Despite the fact that, unlike Michel Brown , who, at the last minute, confirmed his participation in the new season of ‘Pasión de Gavilanes’ , Sebastián Boscán would not participate in the continuation of the story, the production showed his consternation due to the death of the actor.

The actor, born on March 4, 1980 with the name of Leonardo Zapata -Sebastián Boscán was his stage name-, also acted in the series El General Naranjo , in which he played the role of Colonel Bastidas, and in Escobar, El Patrón del Mal  played the role of one of the victims of the Avianca plane.

In his Instagram profile, the actor defined himself as “Lorenzo’s father, citizen of the world, theater, film and television actor, lover of wine and good cuisine “.

The news of his death was confirmed by the journalist Carlos Ochoa, who also announced that his funeral will be this Monday, at 5 pm, in the chapel of the Jardines Montesacro Cemetery, in Itagüí (Antioquia).

Some time ago, after his return to Medellín, he began to feel bad and after a visit to the doctor he underwent surgery. At the time, he told his followers on social media that he had gallbladder, liver and kidney stone problems.

Last November 21 was the operation and there was another announcement by the actor: not having been able to record a job.

“I want to tell you that I was in a very nice project with a campaign with a production company called Akira, and nothing, I had to leave the project thrown away, which I have never done in my life. I have some discomforts, some health complications, that have been bringing me to the clinic consecutively, and right now it was the lid of the pot and I went to record and I did not physically, I could not, I was lying on the floor, with chills, with trembling With bodily pain, he was almost losing consciousness, ”he wrote.

In addition, last year he also had covid-19 and his recovery was slow.

His most prominent characters

Although his participation in the second part of ‘Pasión de gavilanes’ had not been confirmed, his followers wanted him there, as a more mature Leandro and insisted on networks that he participate.

After participating in ‘The revenge’ and ‘The authentic Rodrigo Leal’, his most remembered character arrived: that of Leandro Santos.

Boscán told, in an interview with EL TIEMPO, that for the first time he felt comfortable with a characterization and even saw himself every night. Also, even though it was a supporting character, it made him grow.

“ That is achieved with serious work. A lot of people on television are negligent with character creation. I put them together with the same responsibility that I use in the theater, although with a different technique. In theater one can use techniques like Stanislavski’s (which appeals to the emotional world and memories to create), but in television I build more from the outside, with a suit and assuming an attitude, to begin with ”, he commented.

Although Leandro is his most famous character, he achieved the admiration of the public in later roles such as Gabriel Ávila in The Stylist, a leading role loaded with dramatic content that recounts the drama of a kidnapped person, for which he was nominated for the India Catalina Award in the category of ‘Best soap opera actor’ in 2015.

And while filming that 2014 production, he felt somehow what the kidnapped suffered day after day: he was ‘chained’ for hours, for several days, to different trees, to make the scenes stronger.

“To this tree, to the other, to the one beyond. And walking a lot during the recordings to show how the kidnapped people moved through the jungle. It was like 12 hours a day in those. So, one wonders, with that feeling, what life can be like for these people who are taken from their world ”, he told EL TIEMPO.

This production had librettos by Nubia Barreto, a series that the creator considered “sad” for everything she had inside: the stories of several hostages, the losses, the pain.

And Boscán, the grandson of a displaced person, said that the best thing about his character “is that he never lowered his head.” His stylist, he said, survived by cutting their hair and fixing the beards of the guerrillas, moments he took advantage of to find out where they were, what the guerrillas were up to, what rivers and roads were nearby, always thinking about escaping.

On the other hand, in The Law of the Heart he played the role of Alejandro Santana, the protagonist of one of the cases of the law firm, a character who in the plot was about to achieve the perfect crime.
