Liam Payne was rushed to hospital during his Italian vacation
Liam Payne was reportedly taken to the emergency room in an ambulance; once in the hospital, he was directed to a secure room, where he will remain under observation for a couple of days.
While in Lake Como, Italy, vacationing with his current partner Kate Cassidy, former One Direction star Liam Payne was rushed to a private hospital for severe kidney pain.
According to Rolling Stone, this pain is not new, as a kidney infection caused him to cancel much of his current tour last month. Currently, the singer’s doctors are analyzing what it could be.
Reports say Payne was taken to the emergency room in an ambulance; while in the hospital, he was directed to a secure room, where he will remain under observation for a couple more days.
“Liam is in a bad way, but he’s in the best place he can be and eventually the doctors will be able to get to the bottom of what he’s going through,” a source close to Payne told The Mirror.
“Naturally, he’s devastated that his and Kate’s trip to Lake Como has been ruined, but at least she was there to help him when he got sick.”
According to media reports, Payne will be under observation for at least six days, with the goal of finding the real problem affecting his kidney.
“They want to run as many tests as possible to fully understand the problem, but now they suspect there has been an underlying problem for a while and it has been getting worse.”
Just a few weeks ago, the performer canceled his first solo tour of South America and Mexico due to kidney problems.
“For the past week I’ve been in the hospital with a serious kidney infection, it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and the doctors’ orders are that I now need to rest and recover. I was more than excited to go play for you guys. To everyone who bought tickets: I’m so sorry,” he said in a video.
