In a recent interview with Nylon , the daughter of the iconic Phil Collins admitted that while some qualities of her character can be “annoying,” they have a reason for being. The actress said that Emily’s attitude, personality and qualities are truly what make her such a great character.
“A lot of the qualities that Emily has, if you put them on paper, they would seem very annoying,” she explained. She went on to say that it is sad to see that people do not like to see a character who is optimistic, bright and cheerful. “They are such beautiful qualities, and the fact that she can associate that with being vulnerable, asking for help and making mistakes, is not infallible,” she added.
The actress also spoke about the comparisons that circulate on the Internet and that Emily tries to look like Carrie Bradshaw . On that, he said that there is no way that he is imitating Carrie’s life, although she clarified that perhaps, her character grew up having posters of the protagonist of Sex and the City on the wall of her room.
On the criticism that was made during the first season that the series presents an incredible and unrealistic version of Parisian life, she said: “I think this is a greater reality for Emily, moving to Paris, and what she experiences and what see. it becomes a little less credible when it all together and show on TV.
