The Spanish-speaking US network Univision News reported this Monday that Leopoldo Gomez will be the new president of News of the chain, replacing Daniel Coronell, a position he will occupy as of August 1 of this year.

“Gómez is an expert news executive, with proven commercial results and more than 20 years of experience in charge of a large and diversified group of news in Mexico, the market with the most Spanish speakers in the world,” read a statement released by Univision .

This move is due to the restructuring that the company is doing in its three main divisions: Entertainment, Sports and News.

“The changes will accelerate the growth of Univision networks by creating focused and aligned structures of content in News, Entertainment and Sports,” said Luis Silberwasser, president of Univision Television Networks Group in the statement.
