“I’m looking forward to closing this chapter of my life and starting a new one. I just wish peace to all the people involved,” the artist wrote on her social networks.

Kesha Rose Sebert, known simply as Kesha, stars for almost a decade in one of the most scandalous battles in the music industry. It all started in 2005, when the singer had just turned 18 and signed an exclusive contract with producer Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald, better known as Dr. Luke. This agreement would oblige Kesha to record six studio albums with the producer, plus a certain percentage of her album sales would go directly into Dr. Luke’s pockets.

Kesha claimed in 2014 that Dr. Luke had abused her.

In 2014, Kesha officially filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke, arguing that in 2005, Dr. Luke abused the singer during a party at Paris Hilton’s house using a GHB pill. These pills are known as a “date rape drug” because when taken, a person has no ability to defend themselves from sexual assault.

In addition to this, Kesha claimed that in the years that followed Dr. Luke had total control over her music, denying her the ability to dabble in certain genres or even get out of party themes.

Sexual assault, sexual harassment, gender-based violence, civil harassment, unfair business practices and infliction of emotional distress were the allegations Kesha brought against Dr. Luke.

Dr. luk claims that Kesha herself threatened to fabricate false allegations of abuse in order to get rid of the product.

Gottwald, in fact, sued her for defamation, and with this lawsuit began a movement in networks under the slogan #FreeKesha, with which network users sought to end the unfair treatment of the Tik Tok singer.

Finally, after nine years of starting this legal battle, both parties have reached an agreement with which they seek to continue with their lives in peace. While the details of this settlement are unknown, both Kesha and Lukasz spoke out on their networks with messages where they made it clear that the controversy surrounding the sexual abuse was behind them.

Kesha assured that she does not remember at all what happened that night when she was allegedly abused, but she intends to put it all behind her to “give peace to the people involved.”

“Only God knows what happened that night, as I have always said. I can’t remember everything that happened. I’m looking forward to closing this chapter of my life and starting a new one. I just wish peace to all the people involved.”

For his part, Lucasz reiterated that nothing happened that night in 2005, maintaining his version of a slur by Kesha. However, the musician and producer shares Kesha’s words and assured that he wants to close that chapter of his life.

“While I appreciate that Kesha recognizes that she is not able to remember everything that happened that night in 2005, I am completely sure that nothing happened. I never drugged or abused her and I would never do anything like that to anyone. For the sake of my family, I have fought fiercely to clear my name for almost 10 years. It’s time to put all of this behind me and look forward. I wish Kesha the best.”

It is worth mentioning that the resolution comes just over a month after the singer released Gag Order, her most recent studio album whose title refers to the fact that the court forced her to remain silent about the case against Dr. Luke until it was resolved. This is Kesha’s sixth album, so if all goes as it should, Kesha would return to the music industry free of her settlement with the producer.
