Mexican actress Karla Souza reappeared and spoke of her momentary withdrawal from the public eye after being one of the first actresses to join the MeToo movement and confessing that she suffered abuse at the beginning of her career.

During an interview for the show program Ventaneando , Karla Souza broke the silence about how she suffered her withdrawal from public life after assuring that she suffered gender-based violence at the beginning of her career, despite the fact that she was in her best stage as an actress for the movie We The Nobles.

The interpreter explained that she continued to work, but that she did try to distance herself, because it was heavy to be on everyone’s lips.

“I kept working and maybe I retired from the media, because we know how hard it is to be in the eye of the hurricane,” he confessed.

It was also said that she felt hurt by the simple fact of denouncing what they resulted.

“You tell me: ‘You disappeared’; yes, it was my own decision to move away, because they hurt me a lot, it was very painful for me to live that time, the way they talked about it and it’s something I learned and I appreciate it, because I learned a lot, “she said.

After making known what she experienced, she shared that her voice helped more women, who later approached her to thank her for her act of bravery.

“It is a very strong lesson to go on and see the women who came to me to thank me and tell me, I had helped by sharing, it was what I put in my heart and with that how it is for what I did it”, commented.

Karla Souza , in 2018 shared that she suffered sexual abuse by a director when she was just starting her career.

“He is a very charismatic person, who is doing very well in his career and is doing very well in his job; however, I come to this set, which is on location, and they happen to take me to a hotel, the cast is staying in another hotel, and I ask, ‘Who else is here in this hotel?’ They say: ‘Just you and the director,'” the actress shared at the time.
