New anti-Semitic statements by Kanye West revealed
A documentary shows more of the artist’s discriminatory remarks. The controversy comes just days after “The Idol” series mocked the actor’s situation.
Kanye West began a series of anti-Semitic comments in October 2022 that the more they have escalated, the more they have dented his career. Undoubtedly, one of the most controversial moments of the now self-appointed Ye was in December of the same year when he met with conspiracist Alex Jones and openly declared that he was a Nazi and loved Adolf Hitler.
“I love Hitler. I love Jews, but I also love Nazis. I don’t like to see the word evil next to Nazis. I see good things about Hitler. I can’t say that this person (Hitler) who invented roads and the microphones that I use as a musician, didn’t do anything good. Every human being has something valuable that he has brought to the table, especially Hitler,” stated the interpreter of songs like Flashing Lights, Heartless and Ni**as in Paris.
Kanye’s anti-Semitic comments had ceased in recent months, but a new documentary has once again embroiled the 45-year-old musician in controversy. This BBC product entitled The Trouble With KanYe seeks to show “the complex journey that led Ye to become one of the most famous and creatively successful artists of his generation, but more recently, to condemnation and notoriety.” Among the chiaroscuros that The Trouble With KanYe shows, there is a statement where the musician assured that the Jewish community is in cahoots to lead him straight to failure.
The statements were rescued from an interview with entrepreneur Alex Klein, with whom Kanye worked for the release of his most recent studio album Donda 2, released in February 2022. Klein shared that during a discussion with Kanye, the rapper told him that he was “exactly like all the other Jews”; when the entrepreneur questioned Kanye if he really believed that all Jews were working together to “hold him back,” West merely said “Yes.”
Following Kanye’s comments, many experts guarantee that the musician will not be able to tour again. In fact, this situation was rescued in the controversial series The Idol, which ended its transmissions last July 2. During the final episode, Lily-Rose Depp, who plays the character Jocelyn, is set to return to the stage after a turbulent season. The artist’s handlers aren’t too sure about this comeback, comparing Jocelyn’s attempt to Kanye West’s fall.
“You know fucking Kanye was filling stadiums until he decided to start following Adolf Hitler,” one of Jocelyn’s handlers tells the show.
Parallel to his music career, Kanye is also dealing with the chaos of his facet as a designer, specifically, his collaboration with Adidas and his Yeezy line of footwear. After the sports brand turned its back on him, it has been announced that West has sought out American Apparel’s Dov Charney to become CEO of Yeezy. While it could be a smart move on Kanye’s part, Dov has not been without controversy, having been fired from American Apparel in 2014 over allegations of discrimination and assault.
