James Franco was sued by former students Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal, who alleged that the actor and other instructors pressured women to strip down for auditions while offering opportunities for film roles.
James Franco broke the silence on the accusations against him for sexual misconduct and admitted that he had sexual relations with students.
In an interview with SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle, the actor stated that he thought at the time that sleeping with his students was okay because it was acceptable and consensual.
“ During the course of my teaching , I slept with the students , and that was wrong .
James Franco revealed that he has battled sex addiction for years after becoming sober from alcohol at a young age.
“It is such a powerful drug,” he explained. “I was hooked for more than 20 years. The insidious part of that is that I was sober from alcohol the entire time. And I went to meetings all that time. I even tried to sponsor other people. So, in my head, it was like, ‘Oh, I’m sober. I am living a spiritual life. ”
According to the Page Six portal, in 2019, James Franco was sued by former students Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal, who alleged that the actor and other instructors pressured women to strip for auditions while offering opportunities for roles in films.
“I disappointed a lot of people. I disappointed my students, ”he said.
