The altar of the dead in honor of Vicente Fernández was ready on Saturday, and with it the invitation to his fans to visit him at Rancho Los Tres Potrillos

Vicente Fernández is honored for this Day of the Dead with an altar in his mausoleum, at the Los Tres Potrillos ranch.

But the best thing about this initiative of the Fernández family, headed by Doña Cuquita Abarca, is that fans of the “Charro de Huentitán” can visit it.

“Very happy that this (the Altar) has been made for her and that it has been so beautiful, it is also for her public, which continues to happen, keeps coming; right now everything is ready for them to come see his altar, “said the widow of the musical icon, who received the press this Sunday, at her farm, minutes before the first tourists of the day entered the ranch.

The altar to Chente began to be assembled seven days ago, created by 50 Michoacán artisans and their families, including designers, sculptors, decorators, florists, painters and carpenters from the municipalities of Tzintzuntzan, Morelia, Quiroga and Pátzcuaro.

To adorn the threshold where the Fernández family and their fans will await the return of “El Rey” to this world on the night of November 1 to 2, more than 72 thousand cempasúchil flowers were used. As well as 20 scaled wax candles in the center of the altar and more than two thousand candles that illuminate the path from the entrance of the Rancho de los Tres Potrillos to the tomb.

In the center of the Altar is a black and white photo of Chente, while one of his charro suits, a saddle and bottles of tequila also adorn this tribute. While on the floor of the Altar is written “I’m still the King”.

“Doña Cuquita has been present throughout the process, while we were working on it, she told us anecdotes, recommended us where to put more flowers and she chose the photograph of Don Vicente, she has chosen about three, but I think this is the one that stays” , spoke Rocco Garcini, coordinator of the project.

The altar of the dead in honor of Vicente Fernández was ready on Saturday and with it the invitation to his fans to visit it.

Access to the Los Tres Potrillo ranch will be allowed from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., approximately.

On November 1, Vicente’s family will bring offerings to his Altar, but this event will be private; Cuquita shared that the fried egg rice was one of her husband’s favorite dishes.

And on days 1 and 2 there will be a procession ceremony at 6:00 p.m.
