Hong Kong actress Charlie Young’s new fantasy film Hello! Tapir opens in Taiwan on February 1 and during a recent interview to promote the movie, Charlie, 47, shared that when she was shooting the movie in Yilan in 2019, she really missed his four-year-old twins, Aloysius and Ignatius, who were then one.
With her Singaporean husband, Khoo Shao Tze, and their children in Singapore, Charlie, who plays the mother of a young boy who goes in search of a mythical creature that eats nightmares, could only rely on video chats to see them.
“We only video chatted after I left the studio because I was afraid it would affect the shoot. She called them when she got back to the hotel or when she was in the car. I missed them so much. Even now, sometimes when I am away from them for a long time, I will miss them,” she said.
“Because of the pandemic, I didn’t take any jobs in the last two years, so I spent a lot of time with my children and they became more attached to me.”
