Maurílio Ribeiro was participating in the recording of a DVD on the night of December 14, when he collapsed on stage and was taken to the emergency room.

Brazilian singer Maurílio Ribeiro, from the duo Luiza y Maurílio, who was admitted to a hospital in the state of Goiás since December 15 after suffering a pulmonary embolism, died this Wednesday at the age of 28.

The artist was participating in the recording of a DVD on the night of December 14, when he felt ill on stage and was taken to the emergency room. The singer’s team reported the death in a statement on Instagram. 

Ribeiro and his partner Luiza Santos started making music in 2015 and gained fame through social media. Some of his songs like ‘Sertanejo’ have reached millions of views on YouTube.
