Who is Abril Zamora and why is she famous?

Abril Zamora (Barcelona, 1981) is going to become in a few weeks the next acting teacher of the academy of Operación Triunfo in its new stage in Amazon Prime.

The actress and LGTBI+ rights activist began in the field of acting in the theater.

Subsequently, she was a supporting actress in the series Los Serrano, Los hombres de Paco and La que se avecina.

In the series Vis a Vis, in the role of Luna Garrido, Abril Zamora achieved her first great professional success thanks to her participation in seasons 3 and 4.

Zamora has been a regular contributor to the program La Roca on La Sexta with Nuria Roca and also participated in Traitors España.

Behind the cameras, Abril Zamora also stands out for her work both as director and scriptwriter in successful series. Among them, Elite and Señoras del (h)AMPA stand out.

She has recently shot the film El Molino, by Alfonso Cortés-Cavanillas, the series Un nuevo amanecer and is currently working on the second season of Sagrada Familia. She also participated in the film La vida por delante, by Edoardo Ponti, where she shared scenes with Sophia Loren.

“I was scared…. But she was very human. She is a vulnerable and even insecure person, like me, and that’s why – in the shooting – I managed to see her as an equal. Although I can say that she is very demanding with her work. I learned a lot from her and I think going through that experience opened a lot of doors for me. In fact, I just came back from Naples because I shot another movie in Italian, even though I don’t speak any Italian! That’s the worst part, but I learn everything phonetically and like a tongue twister. Besides, I’m lucky that the directors don’t mind that I don’t have a perfect accent,” Abril Zamora pointed out in a recent interview.
