After the shooting that occurred in a primary school in Uvalde, Texas (US) by a young man of only 18 years, the foreign minister of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrardregretted the events of this Tuesday.

Eric Estradaa spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety announced to the CNN television network that 18 children lost their lives when they were inside the center Robb Elementary School de Uvalde.

For his part, State Senator Roland Gutierrezof the Democratic Party, told that same channel that the Texas State Police informed him that 18 children were deceased and three adults.

“Deep sadness expresses Mexico for the victims and those affected by this tragedy. The barbarism again”, Ebrard noted in a message on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the Mexican Foreign Ministry in another message indicated that the Government of Mexico “regrets the tragic incident at Robb Elementary School, in the city of Uvalde, Texas, where multiple deaths were reported, including minors, and strongly condemns this act of violence.”

“Mexico extends its most sincere condolences to all the affected families and will offer all consular support to Mexicans who require it.”Add.

According to the information provided by the authorities, the aggressor, identified as Salvador Romesfrom 18 yearswas carrying a handgun, and possibly a rifle.

This is the deadliest shooting in the US. so far in 2022 and occurred ten days after ten people were shot to death in a supermarket in Buffalo (New York) in an attack with racist motivations.

This Tuesday is the second deadliest school shooting in the last decade, after the one that occurred in 2012 at the Sandy Hook school in Newton, Connecticut, where 26 people were killed.
