One million Americans signed up for “Obamacare” health insurance during a special period for those who need coverage during the coronavirus pandemic.

This was reported by President Joe Biden, who reopened the HealthCare.gov marketplaces in February for a special six-month enrollment period.

“Health care is a right, not a privilege, and ensuring that every American has access to the quality, affordable health care they need is a national imperative,” he said in a statement.

Biden has promised to boost coverage for all by improving President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act.

FOR BIDEN, OBAMACARE HAS BEEN A “SAVING ROPE” FOR MILLIONS IN THE US

He said “Obamacare” has been a “lifeline for millions of Americans” since the law was passed more than a decade ago.

Biden said the United States has made “tremendous strides” in expanding access to health insurance in this special enrollment period.

We tell you the details.

Although the number of Americans without coverage has risen due to job losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trump administration rejected calls to authorize a special enrollment period for the uninsured during the pandemic.

Failing to fulfill his repeated promise to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act was one of the most bitter disappointments to Trump, as his administration continued to try to find a way to limit or undo the bill.

A Supreme Court ruling on Trump’s latest lawsuit against the Affordable Care Act is expected this year.
