R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan and country musician Eric Church will sing the national anthem together next month at the Super Bowl. Grammy winner HER will sing “America the Beautiful.”
Performances will take place on February 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, before the big NFL game and halftime show headlined by The Weeknd. The event will be broadcast live on CBS.
Rapper and musician Warren “WAWA” Snipe, who is deaf, will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful” in American Sign Language. Emmy nominated musical director Adam Blackstone will produce the performance of Church and Sullivan.
Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Company returns for the second year in a row as Executive Producer of the halftime show. Jesse Collins, who has produced the BET Awards and is working on the Grammy and Oscar ceremonies this year, will serve as executive producer.
Sullivan topped the R&B charts in 2008 with his first single and album. He has received 12 Grammy nominations and has written songs for Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, and Monica. His new album, “Heaux Tales,” debuted this week at No. 4 on Billboard’s 200-Album All-Genre Chart.
The 10 Grammy nominated Church debuted in 2006 and has since topped the country charts with songs like “Drink In My Hand,” “Springsteen,” “Talladega” and “Record Year.” Several of his albums have been certified platinum and multiplatinum. Last year he was named Artist of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards ceremony.
HER won two Grammys in 2019 and has received critical acclaim for his live performances, including his work as a guitarist. He has received MTV Music Video Awards, BET and Soul Train Music, and has released R&B hits such as “Focus,” “Best Part,” “Slide,” “Damage,” and “BS” with Jhené Aiko.
