The American airline Delta Air Lines will make permanent the Galeao-Atlanta connection, which was initially to be operated only during the high season, between December 17 this year and the end of March 2024. The company has already released flights scheduled for April onwards into the system.

The news that Galeao would gain another permanent flight was mentioned in a post by Mayor Eduardo Paes on social media last week, but without revealing the name of the company or the route.

Atlanta airport is Delta’s headquarters, from where it is possible to connect to any part of the USA and also to international destinations.

The Galeao-Atlanta flight is the seventh connection between the USA and South America launched since the start of the joint venture between Latam and Delta, signed in October last year. These flights are operated by one company or the other, such as the São Paulo-Los Angeles route, operated by Latam.

From Galeao airport, Delta will fly to New York, but this flight will remain seasonal, between December 16 and the end of March 2024.

The two flights from Rio will be operated with a Boeing 767-300, with four cabin classes.
