Naked woman gets out of her car in the middle of California freeway and shoots at passers-by in open fire.

The suspect, who has not been identified, turned herself in near the I-880 on-ramp. The woman arrested for getting out of her car naked on a Bay Ridge freeway Tuesday and shooting at traffic was driving erratically over the bridge, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) revealed.

The crime was reported shortly before 5 p.m. local time.

According to information reported by media outlets such as NBC Bay Area on Wednesday, the woman got out of her car on two occasions. The first time, armed with a knife. She then got back in the car and drove in the direction of Oakland.

The second time, the woman got out naked and armed with a handgun near a toll station on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The attacker fired into the air and at cars. Although she struck several vehicles, there are no reports of injuries.

“Immediately, it’s clear that she was experiencing some sort of mental breakdown,” CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.

The suspect, who has not been identified, surrendered near the I-880 ramp. She was transported to a local hospital for psychiatric evaluation. The incident – which caused traffic chaos – was captured on video by passersby traveling eastbound.

CHP personnel had to close all lanes exiting the bridge along that route. Investigators are seeking to determine what prompted the female’s outburst, and whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the attack.

Barclay added that charges have not been ruled out at this time. “Because of the severity of the incident here, there are criminal charges that could be filed.so what we have to do is let the hospital do its job. Give her the treatment and help she needs, and once she is discharged, we can take her into custody,” the police spokesperson explained.
