US President Joe Biden will sign two presidential decrees on Friday, one of them to increase food aid after millions of citizens have fallen into poverty due to the crisis caused by the pandemic, said the House’s economic adviser.
“Nearly 30 million Americans suffer from not having enough to eat,” said Brian Deese, director of the National Economic Council, during a briefing with reporters.
The new president wants to provide immediate help to struggling Americans before Congress votes on the $1.9 trillion emergency rescue plan unveiled last week, the official explained. The second decree is to strengthen the social rights of state employees, Deese explained.
