The Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, confirmed this Friday at the Airbus (PA: AIR ) factory in Seville that the government will soon present a PERTE -strategic plan under the European recovery funds Next (LON: NXT ) Generation- for the aerospace sector.

Speaking to journalists before presiding over an event at the European aeronautical consortium’s factory in Seville, the minister maintained that the aerospace sector is strategic and PERTE will be a “driving engine for companies linked to this activity.”

In addition, he added that the aeronautical sector has been severely affected by the pandemic due to the restrictions imposed on traffic, which have caused a sharp drop in air traffic, and has also been affected by problems in the supply chains.

Therefore, he has defended that this sector must be relaunched with the help of a PERTE, which will join those announced for the automobile, the agri-food sector, the health sector and the circular economy, although the minister has not specified the date or the amount. that will be used for this project.

It has taken advantage of its presence in Seville to highlight the aeronautical tradition of this city and has guaranteed the Government’s commitment to continue being a benchmark in this strategic sector.
