Big Lots! has announced that it will close several of its locations in California and Colorado. In Globe Live Media we tell you who will be affected

Another store in the United States has just announced several closures for this 2023: it is Big Lots!. The chain plans to close locations in Colorado and California in the coming months. This measure will be carried out mainly at times when the spending habits of buyers have decreased drastically, according to Bruce Thorn, its CEO.
One of their bets, they said from the company, is to focus more on rural markets. “The closings this year will end up being a little higher than the openings,” Jonathan Ramsden said a few months ago.

“Going forward, we expect and hope to return to a normal level of closures, but we will certainly continue to keep a close eye on underperforming stores,” Ramsden added.

For now, the closures of three stores in Big Lots in California and four more stores in Colorado are planned.

What are the California locations

The California locations are Citrus Heights, which is located at 8525 Auburn Blvd; the Dublin branch, which is located at 7991 Amador Valley Blvd and the Ridgecrest branch, which is located at 2360-2390 N Tustin Ave, Santa Ana.

What are the locations in Colorado

Includes Arvada, located at 8125 Sheridan Blvd; the one in Denver, which is located at 7475 E. Iliff Ave and the one in Englewood, which is located at 139 W. Hampden Ave; and Fort Collins located at 126 W. Troutman Pkwy.

These announcements occur in the midst of a context in which inflation in the United States has been through the roof. Although there has been a slight decrease in the last months of 2022, the costs of different products and services remain high.
As a measure to tame inflation, the Federal Reserve (Fed) has raised interest rates at the federal level, and it is expected to do so at least once more in 2023.
