At least two people died and several were injured on Sunday in Pittsburgh, United States, when a shooting broke out in a house in this city of Pennsylvania. Dozens of people, mostly young people, had gathered there for a big party, several American media reported.

“This shouldn’t have happened. We’re sick of it and we’re going to do everything we can to catch those responsible,” Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert said at a news conference.

Very young victims

According to local authorities, quoted by the New York Times, the two youths killed are believed to be under 18, and a 14-year-old was injured in the shooting. The daily said at least 50 shots were fired, prompting revelers to “jump out of windows” to flee, some seriously injuring themselves in their fall.

Evidence suggests multiple shooters and an altercation may have been the cause of the shooting, added Scott Schubert, who did not give further details. The authorities have not yet released the names of the victims, reports GLM.

The news agency recalls that the Pittsburgh shooting took place hours after another shooting that left several injured in a South Carolina mall and days after a shooter opened fire in a subway car of New York, injuring dozens.
