One person was killed in a two-vehicle shooting in the Jefferson Park area on Sunday evening.

The shooting happened at the intersection of St. Andrews Place and Jefferson Boulevard around 8:30 p.m., according to an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s operations center.

Authorities say three men approached the victim’s car from another vehicle and started an argument. One of them pulled out a gun and fired several times.

A friend drove the victim to the fairgrounds area. From there, paramedics took him to hospital where he was pronounced dead, the receiving officer said.

The deceased was a 30-year-old man, he said.

Authorities are investigating the reasons for the discussion that led to the shooting. So far they have not indicated if it could be related to gang activity.
