The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released over 6 years ago, and even today, details and curiosities never known before continue to be discovered. And no, I’m not talking about how the game lets you stand on a log of wood, paralyze it, apply kinetic energy to it, and then turn it into an aerial vehicle to travel several miles with (yes, it can be done), I speak of other curiosities.

Because yes, Tears of the Kingdom has demonstrated it, in this official gameplay shared by nintendo a few weeks ago, which plans to shake up the foundations of Breath of the Wild gameplay and allow us to do even more crazy things than we were able to do in the first game, but it is that already in the 2017 game we could do absolutely crazy things with physics. Even so, these curiosities won’t just be about the game’s physics. So without further ado, here we go!

1. The birds that guide to Sheikah shrines

Have you ever seen a flock of birds flying over a specific area of Hyrule’s Breath of the Wild map? Well, that means there’s a Shiekah Shrine right there that you haven’t discovered in your game yet.

So if you’re trying to complete all the shrines, or just want to find one to register as a fast travel point, Just look at the sky, and if you see a flock of birds flying in a circle, go for it. Of course, when you get close enough to the sanctuary, the birds will disappear.

2. If the Gerudo Desert Walruses resist you…

The best you can do is stun them! The desert is a rather dangerous place: the temperatures fluctuate very often, there are all kinds of enemies, Link walks slower on the sand… That’s why it is logical that many choose to take a walrus and surf on the sand.

But of course, walruses are very difficult animals to catch, as they are very sensitive to sound. What you might not know is that you can stun these animals with a bomb. So, while the walrus is unconscious, we can easily approach it and make it our mount.

3. Take advantage of the ability to double bomb arrows

Explosive Arrows are one of the rarest and most special types of arrows to be found in Breath of the Wild, and oddly enough they’re required to access the insides of two of the game’s four Divine Beasts.

Theba gives us explosive arrows to appease Vah Medoh

When we ally with Teba and Riju to appease Vah Medoh and Vah Naboris respectively, they give us explosive arrows so that we can break the barrier that protects one of the divine beasts and disable the legs of the other, and for this do, we have to hit each of the four targets twice. Which means if no arrows are missing, we need eight explosive arrows per divine beast. But… What if I told you that you can actually complete the quest using half of it?

In Breath of the Wild, there are double and triple bows. Some types of bows allow you to shoot multiple arrows using only one. This way you can manage to hit the same target twice, be it a cannon or the leg of a Naboris, and spend half the arrows you would normally need on the spot.

4. To burning problems, refreshing solutions!

Much has already been said about how the elements and physics of this video game make Many problems that we encounter during our adventure can be solved in a completely creative way.and now I’m going to tell you how I solved one of the biggest problems I encountered during my game while crossing Death Mountain.

This area located in the northern part of the map is one of the most dangerous, since it is an active volcano and not only do we need special protection so as not to burn ourselves alive, but also most of the enemies that we encounter can burn us very easily. And no, fire chu-chu are no exception.

Many people will try to kill them by shooting them with an ice arrow or hitting them directly., but in the first case, a limited and very important resource such as ice elemental arrows is lost, and in the second case, the chu-chu will most likely explode and burn us. For that the best option is to throw a piece of normal chu-chu jelly on the ground and smash it with an arrow or a sword. The chu-chu will die instantly, without burning us and wasting resources.

5. Sneaking into the Gerudo Citadel is an option

You already know that male access inside the Gerudo Citadel is prohibited, and that is why Link must don the Gerudo outfit in order to sneak into the citadel posing as a woman. But did you know that there are also other clothes with which Link can access the interior of the citadel without being discovered?

These clothes are: The thunder helmet, the snow boots and the sand boots. Apparently, even if we’re not wearing the full Gerudo outfit, if we’re wearing those clothes (or accessories, in the case of the Thunder helmet), we can sneak through with no problem.

6. Electric sheep?

Well yes, sheep can conduct electricity. At first, this may seem like the typical detail which is totally wrong, but I assure you it’s true, and you can check it out for yourselves in your game.

If you go to Hatelia Village, you will find a ranch in the upper part of the village. There you can try letting a sheep conduct electricity from one of your weapons of that element. It’s creepy, I know.

7. The best thing before entering the desert is to be well prepared!

The sweltering heat of the desert can be a real problem for anyone who enters it without being well equipped, and what many of you have surely done is cook an elixir to withstand the heat, or wait for it to cool down as the sun goes down, or even go and collect life bit by bit until you can finally get the Gerudo set.

But what you probably didn’t know is that there is a way to get the male Gerudo set long before you reach the Gerudo Citadel. The only thing you will have to do is advance through the side mission called “Real Estate Expansion”, until Karid asks you to look for a Gerudo woman.

Then you need to go to Sekken Bazaar, located in the middle of the Gerudo Desert, and You will need to ask the Gerudo woman who is sitting next to the bazaar to go to Arkadia Village. He will open his own clothing store there and so you can get this set to withstand the desert heat.

8. Nobody likes rain, and there’s a way to avoid it!

Well, not always, but there is one specific mission in which the rain tends to be very annoying, and it’s possible to make it never appear. And it is that if after talking with Impa you headed to the Hatelia village in search of Prunia, surely it touched you fire up the sheikah generator in the lab while dodging the rain.

prunes

It’s a pretty tedious quest, but there’s a way to make sure the rain never spawns and therefore make it much easier to get the blue flame back to the lab. And it is that the fact that it rains or not is related to the fact that before turning on the generator you spoke with Prunia or not. If you wait until Prunia asks you to bring her the blue flame, it will still rain during the quest, but If you decide to bring the llama before the investigator asks you, the rain won’t bother you at any time.
