In the fifth episode of The Mandalorian, we saw the Din clan take over the planet Navarro, evict the pirates and recover his old house. His ending was very intriguing, with the new alliance between the Armorer and Bo-Katan and the beskar residue found in the wreckage of the ship carrying Moff Gideon. the sixth chapter continues to unveil the mysteries posed and show us a fun planet ruled by Jack Black.
A calm and funny chapter
Even if episode 6 of season 3 of The Mandalorian starts on a rather dark tone, it quickly takes another path. As I said, the beginning shows us a tragic love story, a couple broken up by a group of unscrupulous mercenaries. What’s surprising is that these malevolent warriors are Mandalorians, but they seem to serve the interests of the Empire. From what we’ve seen so far, these could be responsible for the release of Moff Gideon.
- The implications of this assumption are very harsh, since we would be talking about Mandalorians willing to to serve the one responsible for their destruction.
- Plus, it would mean there’s a new faction of warriors that we didn’t know about until now.
- this faction opposes the plan of Bo-Katan and the Armory to reunite the city of Mandalore.
After touching on this intriguing mystery, the episode takes on a lighter tone, with Din and Bo-Katan arriving at a planet seeks in Mandalore. There they meet the rulers of the world, one of which is Jack Black. Apparently the society they established is idyllic and everything was going great until the droids they had reprogrammed started causing problems.
- After several attacks on the inhabitants, the character of Jack Black asks the Mandalorian couple to help them figure out what’s going on..
- The development of this plot is reminiscent of detective films of the 50s.
- A series of conspiracies and disastrous accidents seem hiding someone with a dark purpose.
- Even though this episode deviates from the plot, it’s full of great and very entertaining moments.
The most unexpected cameo
Jack Black’s cameo was completely unexpected, but I thought it was amazing. The role of president of this strange planet suits him very well and it’s one of the best parts of the chapter. Moreover, it manages to contribute a very refreshing and fun touch to the seasonwhich until now had been very serious.
a moral dilemma
- The most interesting thing about this chapter is that shows droid life.
- It’s something you rarely see in Star Wars movies, but has already been explored in The Clone Wars.
- It is fascinating to think of these metal constructions as thinking creatures with personalities and desires.
- Moreover, the aura of mystery that surrounds the events that unfold throughout the plot keeps us in a constant state of uncertainty.
Claws of the Empire
In addition to all of the above, the episode does a pretty good job. showing the effect of Empire rule on space society. Specifically, we see how many of its inhabitants continue to believe that the Imperials were better than the New Republic. These individuals seem seek the return of an imperial government to reverse the changes pushed by the rebels. Thus, it is clear that there is a latent threat that does not end with the destruction of the separatist armies.
A very interesting chapter
Despite the fact that this episode did not have as much action as the previous two, there is notable progress in the plots started. Besides, the few action moments we see are very intense due to the high stakes in the battles. In general, it has been a very good continuation of what has been seen so far that allows the public to breathe a little and enjoy a lighter and funnier plot.
