A 17-year-old student from Matanzas High School in Palm Coast is in juvenile detention after he knocked out a Flager County high school teacher.

Supposedly, it all happened after the teacher took control of a game in class from him.

The incident happened on February 21 and school resource officers had to respond after the teacher was assaulted in a hallway on campus.

Surveillance video shows the victim walking down the hall and turning to see the student, who is 6ft 6in and weighs 270lbs, as he lunges at her, knocking her to the ground.

Surveillance video recorded the moment the student kicked and punched the teacher multiple times in the back and head.

The teacher was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
