Star Wars: Visions” was an exercise the George Lucas franchise had never dreamed of: giving free rein to a number of Japanese studios to create several independent stories in the universe of the “Star Wars” brand. The result of this? Well, it took very little time to confirm that “Star Wars: Visions Volume 2” was going to be a reality, or what amounts to the same: Season 2 of it all. And today, finally, we received the official trailer of what awaits us.

Star Wars: Visions season 2 looks very promising in its first trailer

So, without further ado, I’ll leave you with the teaser so that you can enjoy it for yourself, because personally I loved:

And now I tell you four things on what awaits us in the return of “Star Wars: Visions”:

  • To begin with, I remind you that the premiere date of the new season is located on May 4, 2023in honor of that’May the 4 be with you‘ which has been the franchise’s motto for so long.
  • Also, below I’ll refresh your memory of the studies that will be participating on this occasion, and the ‘cast’ is much more international than in the first edition of Star Wars: Visions (via ANN):
    • cartoon living room – Irish studio in charge of the short ‘Screecher’s Reach’.
    • punk robot – Chilean studio in charge of the short ‘In the Stars’.
    • Mir Studio – Korean studio in charge of the short ‘Journey to the Dark Head’.
    • Aardman – English study in charge of the short film ‘I Am Your Mother’.
    • Ballista – African study in charge of the short ‘Aau’s Song’.
    • D’ART Shtajio – Japanese studio in charge of the short ‘The Pit’.
    • Studio La Chachette – French studio in charge of the short ‘The Spy Dancer’.
    • 88 Pictures – Indian studio in charge of the short ‘The Bandits of Golak’.
    • El Guiri Studios – Spanish studio, in charge of the short film “Sith” (which will have Úrsula Corberó and Luis Tosar voicing the characters).

As I’ve already said, I have a good taste in my mouth with this first trailer for the new season of “Star Wars: Visions“. Even though we have moved away from this purely anime essence that originally appealed to me so much, I believe that a combination of studies and styles has been found that will greatly enrich this new iteration of the project. I don’t know not if there will be room for a volume 3, but I’m sure many of us will end up asking for it after May 4th.
