Covid-19 transmission levels have risen again in San Diego, especially those of the Omicron variant B.4 and B.5; therefore, the County Public Health Department is recommending that citizens return to wearing the mask.
The precaution is to avoid new infections in closed spaces, particularly in those with poor ventilation, according to Dr. Erica Pan.

The expert specified that California will have an increase in cases of the dominant variant in the coming weeks. She also mentioned that it is more infectious than other versions, but it is not more severe due to the immunity that we already have with the vaccines.

In San Diego, it has been observed that many citizens have returned to wearing masks in supermarkets such as Vons, Target or Walmart to protect themselves. Other people do not consider it necessary.
