I don’t know if I’m the only one who thinks this, but from my point of view, the cyberpunk genre has grown in popularity in recent years. I don’t know if it’s due to the hype around Cyberpunk 2077 or the return of Blade Runner. In any case, I consider it great news because this type of futuristic setting is one of the ones that fascinates me the most, and an anime that knew how to exploit it very well was Psycho Pass.
Gen Urobuchi and Hikaru Miyoshi’s manga received an excellent anime adaptation made by Production IG, and now, ten years after establishing itself as a successful saga, the makers offer us a film that looks barbaric. And yes, it is with the original protagonists. Return of Detectives Akane and Kogami.
