This Madrid 2023 hosts its first edition of the Primavera Sound Festival, a must for most music lovers. On this occasion, the place chosen to host a musical event of such magnitude was the Rocky town of Arganda del Rey.
The fact that the organization of the festival has made known all the options that will take us to the Cité du Rock in the three main days… and also those that will bring us back home Once finished. Various possibilities, designed to meet the needs of all types of audiences and taking into account the circumstances of traveling to a big city, with a single destination: to solve the exciting musical puzzle posed by the start of the festival in the capital with the performances of Rosalía, Depeche Mode, Blur, Kendrick Lamar, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, St. Vincent, Calvin Harris, Le Tigre, Halsey, The Moldy Peaches, The Mars Volta, Bad Gyal or Caroline Polachek, among many others, and of course providing a first-class experience for participants in all aspects.
How to get to the City of Rock / Provided by Primavera Sound
Cívitas Metropolitano: Departure point and stage for local groups
The route that will take us to Primavera Sound Madrid 2023 on June 8, 9 and 10 will have its main starting point at the Cívitas Metropolitano, where, on the other hand, you can also experience the free opening day on Wednesday June 7 and the end of the Electronik Brunch evening on Sunday June 11. The shuttles will travel to the City of Rock from the Atlético de Madrid stadium (Av. de Luis Aragonés, 4) in uninterrupted hours from 2:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and will be the means of transport recommended by the festival organization for its comfort, safety and its effectiveness. In the Cívitas Metropolitano, in addition, a space for the collection of bracelets will be deployed, as well as food and drink areas, so that the festival officially begins there.
This first contact with Primavera Sound will be complemented by the programming of the stage sponsored by the Community of Madrid, which will host concerts and sessions of local representatives such as Home, Sword, Shooting star, Dharmacide, Ganges, jotapop, Marinita Precarious, Marta has moved, dying, spying, Stephen please, Thematic, SAD! there Valverdina, divided between the days of Thursday 8 and Saturday 10 (on Friday 9 the Cívitas Metropolitano will only operate as a departure point for buses due to the coincidence with another event). Access to these shows and shuttles will be completely free with a subscription or the ticket for the corresponding day of Primavera Sound Madrid 2023.
Other alternatives towards the Cité du Rock
Other alternatives are metro line L9 at its regular schedule at the Arganda del Rey stop (linked to the City of the Rock also with shuttles), the closed price taxi in advance with prior reservation (from any point in Madrid, although two specific stops are activated for the festival at Paseo del Prado with Plaza de Cibeles or Plaza Conde Casal with C/ Guillermo Fernández Shaw) or the private car (R-3 or A-3, Madrid exit 35), who will only be able to access the festival site car park with a pre-booking of €10 per day which will soon be on sale via AccessTicket. It will also be possible to travel to the festival by VTC from anywhere in Madrid.
Madrid Tour: Shuttles to Three Points in the City
Once each of the three days is over, the return from the Cité du Rock can be done on board three free shuttle lines, which in this case will have three direct destination points:
- At the same Cívitas Metropolitano (line in service from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.)
- At the Méndez Álvaro interchange (from 00:00 a.m. to 07:30 a.m.)
- And at the Plaza de Castilla interchange (from 00:00 a.m. to 07:30 a.m.).
All three will have nearby EMT night bus service and enhanced taxi service. In addition, at the exit of the Ciudad del Rock site, free shuttles will be waiting for you to reach the Arganda del Rey stop on the L9 metro line (operating from 06:00), a taxi stand with free meter and a Point taxi service located in the car park of the enclosure where You can book a taxi with a fixed price.
Either way, all roads lead to Primavera Sound Madrid 2023… and home.
