Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at the outlets in Rehoboth Beach on Monday afternoon.

According to police, an unknown male entered the Fragrance Hut, located at 35016 Midway Outlet Drive, around 2:40 p.m. The suspect reportedly grabbed numerous bottles of cologne and began leaving the store without paying for the items. When approached by the store clerk, the suspect confronted the victim with a can of pepper spray. The suspect then fled the scene in a blue Kia Optima and was last seen traveling to Bethany Beach.

Officers from the Bethany Beach Police Department attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not stop. A short chase ensued, but was cut short due to traffic conditions.

No one was injured in the incident and the suspect remains at large. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 6’0″ to 6’2″ tall, with a slim build. There is no surveillance footage at this time.
