A student has been taken into custody after an alleged social media threat involving a school in Pembroke Pines, authorities said.

Pembroke Pines Police said the incident involved Charles Flanagan High School and the student was immediately identified and taken into custody.

Police have not released any further information about the student or the possible threat.

“At no time has there been an active safety issue for students, staff or the campus. The school remains safe and secure,” the police department tweeted.

Pembroke Pines Police said the investigation is ongoing and asked parents to “continue to educate their children about the seriousness of posting threats online. Our officers will thoroughly investigate any threatening statements or posts, worrying or suspicious”.
