The Henderson Police Department is investigating the death of a 22-year-old man after an early Sunday morning shooting at a party.
The events occurred in the 1100 block of Center Street around 1 a.m. in reference to gunshots heard in the area.
Investigators learned that a group of people were in the area for a party and that several of them had weapons. According to the police, shouts from the crowd and gunshots were heard, injuring two people.
A 23-year-old man was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, while the 22-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The incident marked the second homicide in Henderson in 2023, according to the department.
